The Clwb 300 Club is a fundraising promotion which is open to all active (paid up) rugby club members who are 16 years of age and over. Each participant is automatically allocated a number or numbers between 1 and 300 when they join the Clwb 300 Club and those numbers are then entered into a monthly draw where the winners will win cash prizes.
In addition to the regular monthly prizes, there is an opportunity for winners who are in the room when the draw takes place to gamble half their winnings for a chance to claim an accumulating cash prize. £1000s have been won in the past!
All draws will be usually be made on the last Friday of the month in the Clubhouse (around 7pm - confirmed via a C300C WhatsApp Group) except the December draw which will be made on the last Friday or Saturday before Christmas Day.
Participants will be asked whether they wish to purchase either 1, 2 or 3 (max) numbers at a cost of £1 per week per number. Over half of the representative income received will be paid out by way of the monthly and quarterly prize draws with the balance being retained by Pentyrch RFC for the purposes of rugby and training development within Pentyrch Rugby Football Club.
All participants will be required to pay via standing order either monthly (£4.33 per number), quarterly (£13 per number) or annually (£52 per number) to ensure commitment and to maintain the prize funds.
The full rules are provided further down this webpage.
The purpose of the 300 club is to raise funds for the development of Pentyrch RFC. Over half of the income received will be returned to the participants by way of a monthly cash draw or an accumulator fund with the remaining funds being used specifically for the development of rugby and training within Pentyrch Rugby Club.
1. The 300 club is a private fundraising venture of Pentyrch Rugby Football Club Ltd and is open to all rugby club members who are 16 years and over.
2. The cost to participate will be £1 per number per week. Each participant’s numbers will be entered into the monthly cash and bonus prize draws (subject to rule 14 below).
3. The monthly draws will be made at the end of each month or the start of the following month to be determined by the organiser. The December draw will be made on the last Friday or Saturday before Christmas day. The times of the draws will be decided by the organiser and will hope to maximise the number of attendees for each draw.
4. The annual prize fund will always be greater than half of the annual income. Included in this will be a minimum of £100 placed into the new accumulator fund.
5. From Jan 2023 there will be a monthly ‘Open the Chest’ accumulator draw. The winner of each cash prize draw will be asked if he or she wishes to sacrifice £100 of their winnings for a chance to ‘Open the Chest’ to win the full amount. From Jan 2024 the winner will also be offered a chance to sacrifice £50 of their winnings for a chance to ‘Open the Chest’ to win half the amount.
6. Participants who wish to try and ‘Open the Chest’ must be present in the clubhouse to make that decision. Any cash prize winners, who are not present when their number is drawn, will be deemed to have chosen to keep the cash prize. The decision maker must be the person who is named alongside the winning ball on the organiser’s master list.
7. There will be 13 keys to begin with which will reduce as participants take part. If the winner does not choose the correct key, their £100 or £50 will be added to the accumulator fund at the start of the following months draw.
8. When there are 2 keys remaining the winner will have a choice, they can take 50% of the accumulator fund or they can try to ‘Open the Chest’ to win the full amount. If they try to ‘Open the Chest’ and choose the wrong key, 75% of the accumulator fund will be ‘Rolled Over’ to the next month’s draw and all 13 keys will be put back in play and the other 25% of the accumulator fund will be added to the following month’s prize fund as a Bonus Win.
9. In addition to the cash prizes each month there will also be an additional prize of a ‘FREE BALL’ for a year worth £52. These balls will be marked Jan to Dec and will be allocated to the winners for a 12 month period until a new winner replaces them 12 months later.
10. From January 2024 there will also be a new ‘DOUBLE’ ball in the draw which if drawn, will result in the winner of the net prize receiving double the amount of the win if they are present when the draw is made.
11. If there are enough participators, the organisers will allocate some of the prize fund each month to a Christmas Super Draw fund which will be paid out in the December draw as the organiser deems appropriate. To be included in the Christmas Super Draw, participators need to have been in the Clwb 300 Club for the previous 2 draws in October and November. To ensure this, no new applications will be accepted after the October draw until the New Year starts in January.
12. Payments to participate, wherever possible, should be made by standing order before the 15th day of each month, quarter or year and in advance of that months draw.
13. All new members should complete an application form at least 6 days prior to that months’ draw and have paid their entry fee for that draw in advance.
14. Participant’s numbers will only be entered into the draw if their subscription is up to date.
15. If a member has missed a payment and has not provided a satisfactory explanation to the organisers, their number/s will not be entered into that months draw and they will be deemed to have withdrawn from the Clwb 300 Club unless they bring their subscription up to date immediately. If they do not, their numbers may be reallocated to any person/s wishing to join the draw.
16. If a winner cannot be contacted or does not come forward to claim their prize, their winnings will be placed into the rugby and training development fund after a period of 6 months.
17. The Clwb 300 Club is run by the Executive Committee of Pentyrch Rugby Football Club Ltd. Should there be any dispute then the decision of the rugby club’s Executive Committee will be final.
