Vice Presidents

Pentyrch RFC Vice Presidents Group

Originally the Vice Presidents were a small number of ‘Patrons’ of the Rugby Club who paid extra in club membership fees to support the development of Pentyrch RFC.

In the 1980s, under the Presidency of Don Llewellyn, a more organised and focused group emerged, with a management committee, together with active members, who see it as their mission to help the Rugby Club in important aspects of its development.

Today a hardworking and dynamic Vice Presidents Group, under the leadership of Huw Llywelyn Davies, raises money throughout the year via the promotion and running of various sporting and social functions for club members as well as the local community

The funds raised are held by the VP Treasurer and released, when appropriate, to any faction of the rugby club deemed worthy according to our mission.

The special areas of focus for the VPs are assisting with the development and success of the playing of rugby at Pentyrch RFC; and the improvement of  equipment and the ground, that will further promote this development as well as the enjoyment of rugby at Pentyrch RFC for players, club members, and members of the local community.

VP GOLF DAY 3rd July, Creigiau G C 1.0pm shotgun start, 22 teams entered the event this year which included 4 new sponsors from which this years winners came, with Leekes Team being successful with 85 points.

2nd Place went to   Adjusting Associates LLP 81 points

3rd Place were CF Flooring Ltd 76 points

A futher successfulPie & Mash evening was hosted by Mr President Huw Ll Davies with Main Guest Mr Robert Croft enteraining all with many a good story from his playing days with Glamorgan and England test cricket.

There were also presentations to Ex Chairman of VP's Mr John Lewis and Mr John Priest in lieu of their past hard work for the club.

We hold various functions over the year with this particular one being a sell out every time we arrange one, so across the page are some of the speakers we have been privilaged to have entertain us at the club over the past years.
