On another clear sunny afternoon Cefn kicked off, the ball was fielded safely but Cefn were awarded a penalty for an infringement at the following ruck. The attempt at the posts failed and Pentyrch cleared the ball up to near the half way line. The ball was won at the lineout and only good defence by Pentyrch kept Cefn at bay. Things were looking ominous and following more pressure Cefn were awarded a penalty which was quickly taken and after a series of mauls Joel Braddock crossed for the visitors near the posts. The conversion was successfully kicked by Luke Williams making the score 7-0 to Cefn. Pentyrch struck back immediately following the KO with Scanners crashing over for a try following a good run by Rhys Dickens. The conversion was unsuccessful-Score 7-5 to Cefn.
Following the restart Cefn won the ball back only to be called back for a forward pass. However good scrummaging by the visitors meant them winning the following scrum. Cefn ran the ball but following a period of open play were shepherded into touch. The lineout was duly won and momentum was maintained by Chris Moss who put Rhys Dickens into space. Cefn defended well and after more good work by Chris Moss the ball was moved along the back line to Nathan Williams who cut inside his opponent to score at the posts. The conversion was successfully made by Alex Moore making the score 12-7 to Pentyrch.
Cefn kicked off again and following a period of scrappy play Hywel Chatham cleared the ball into touch within 5 metres of the Cefn line. Cefn won the lineout and kicked up field for Pentyrch to run the ball into touch on the halfway. Cefn again won the lineout only to knock the ball on in contact. Pentyrch won the resulting scrum and following a decoy run Kierion Williams ran through the Cefn defence to score near the posts. The conversion was successfully kicked by Alex Moore making the score 19-7 to Pentyrch.
At the restart Cefn were awarded a penalty and they found a good touch well into the Pentyrch half. Cefn won the lineout and ran the ball straight at the Pentyrch defence which held the line only to concede a scrum for a knock on. The Pentyrch 8 put in a great deal of pressure on the Cefn scrum, succeeded in winning the ball back and following a good move up the left hand side Rhys Dickens outpaced the Cefn defence to score. The conversion by Alex Moore was successful making the score 26-7 to Pentyrch.
After the restart Pentyrch ran the ball at every opportunity and following some good movement lost the ball to Cefn who kicked to touch near the halfway. Pentyrch won the lineout, again running the ball out of their half and following a half break by Nick Gill, Nathan Williams scored his second try near the corner flag. The conversion was unsuccessful. Score 31-7 to Pentyrch.
Cefn restarted the game but the ball did not go 10 metres and following the scrum Pentyrch ran the ball back with Nathan Williams again putting in a storming run down the left flank. The Cefn defence covered the intusion intiomntheir 22 very well csusuing the ball being lost in contact. The referee awarded Cefn a scrum but whistled for half time.

Pentyrch kicked off the second half and Cefn ran the ball back into the Pentyrch half. The referee spotted that the Pentyrch backs had crept up offside and Cefn were awarded a penalty which was successfully kicked to touch to within 10 metres of the Pentyrch line. Cefn looked determined to make something of this but Huw Rees stole the lineout and Pentyrch ran the ball out of defence with Nathan Williams again putting in a very good run. Cefn were by now feeling the pressure and conceded another penalty whilst desperately defending in their 22. The ball was kicked into touch, the lineout won and following some good handling Thomas Marley showing his strength scored under the posts. The conversion was successful making the score 38-7 to Pentyrch.
Pentyrch ran the ball back immediately after the kick off and moved the ball up to the Cefn 22. Desperate defence again yielded a penalty to Pentyrch who chose to run it down the left flank making Cefn to give away another penalty. Pentyrch again took the penalty quickly causing confusion in the Cefn defence only to lose the ball under the posts. Cefn won the resulting scrum and showing great spirit ran the ball from near their own line up to the halfway. Resolute defence by Pentyrch held Cefn at bay but following a probing kick Alex Moore was tackled into touch deep inside the Pentyrch 22. Cefn won the lineout and determinedly ran the ball back, winning two rucks only to knock the ball on. Pentyrch won the scrum and swiftly moved the ball along the back line with Rhys Dickens running really well up the left. Only a desperate tackle stopped him scoring a very good try in the corner. Immediately after the lineout which followed Rhys suffered a heavy blow to his neck area following a very bad no arms tackle which was unpunished by the referee. Strangely Cefn were awarded the penalty which was taken quickly and Cefn made serious headway up the field. It was Pentyrch’s turn to defend desperately and conceded a scrum following some good attacking. Cefn won the resulting scrum and showing great spirit ran the ball into the Pentyrch half. Pentyrch defended well and won the ball back and the forwards moved the ball up the centre of the field. Mark Oakman cut through the Cefn defence and passed to the supporting Ethan Williams for him to score. The conversion was successful making the score 45-7 to Pentyrch.
Pentyrch were not finished yet and following a scrum when they knocked the ball on were awarded a penalty for obstruction. Alex Moore found a good touch and following the resulting lineout Pentyrch ran the ball into the Cefn 22 for Alex Moore to receive the final pass to score under the posts. He converted his own try to make the final score 52-7 to Pentyrch.
