Fixture

With all of the injuries and non availability of players this weekend, we traveled to Fairwater for the match in pouring rain and fairly high winds from the east, the pitch surprisingly was in good condition and straight from the KO it was the home side on the attack and the Tyrchs defense stood it's ground and held on, we then started to get things together and a break out from our 22 resulted in a penalty in front of the posts after a high tackle which in the opinion of writer of this, would have resulted in a try under the posts but our very good ref for the day said no and awarded a pen which Rhys Lynch converted after some 12 mins, this got the home side going and persistent attacks by them saw they winger going over far out to the see the home side 5-3 from then on until the 39 min it was fairly well balanced and Fairwater did score an unconverted try to see HT score 10-3.

The second half started with the home side attacking straight from the whistle but a very resilient defense thwarted all attempts, the Tyrchs' settled down to see them for the last 30 mins control the area of play but a sturdy Fairwater defense saw them stop all attacks close to their line, we had a few penalty attempts by Rhys Lynch but only one went over with about 10 mins to go 10-6, we then went for the winning score but knock on's. forward passes, last second tackles saw Fairwater home to a 10 -6 win which also took them to the top of the table as all the top 3 teams were beaten.

The youth match was called off at home (weaterlogged)and they were asked to go the Fairwater pitch, which upon arrival saw that the home side players thought it was off and had disappeared to watch the City play and next week they play again in the WRU cup at home on the Parc to Fairwater 2.30pm KO.

2nds team had to be called off at home due to the players stepping up to assist the 1st xv

The 1st are home to Cefn Coed in the league 2.30pm KO next Sat 29th Sept.
