What is safeguarding?
Safeguarding is the principle of protecting children, young people and adults at risk from harm or any form of abuse, maltreatment or neglect, whilst promoting their welfare to ensure that they feel safe, empowered and able to develop to be at their best.
Safeguarding is a collective duty; it requires everyone across the game to take responsibility for ensuring that we prevent any potential safeguarding risks before they happen. Where incidents do occur, it’s important that everyone is able to recognise the safeguarding risk and understand the need to intervene where serious immediate risk exists. All safeguarding incidents should be reported through the correct channels.
What do I do if I’m concerned about something?
If you’re a player or parent then you can contact your Team Manager, one of your coaches, a member of the Club’s Executive Committee, or our Club Safeguarding Officer, Kieran Dunne (contact details below).
It’s vital that any concerns are reported so that the appropriate action can be taken. All coaches and Team Managers have been DBS checked and had safeguarding training when completing qualifications. Our Club Safeguarding Officer has years of experience in the role and has fostered strong links with the WRU Safeguarding team and other partners.
You will be listened to and supported.

If a child or adult is in immediate risk and action needs to be taken urgently, a 999 call must be made to the Police.
